Barbara has dedicated much of her life to passing the art form on to new generations. She teaches as a faculty member and guest artist in both public and private dance institutions; including intensive workshops, residencies and master classes throughout the U.S.

She has studied with many of the great contemporary artists and masters including Sam Weber, Lynn Dally, Lane Alexander, Dianne Walker, Fred Strickler, Acia Gray and Heather Cornell to name a few. Barbara has appeared as a soloist in Tap Jammin at the Kaplan Theater, Rhythm Extravaganza, Dance Festival SA, Dance for USA, Dallas National Tap Dance Day Celebrations and is the founder of Third Coast Rhythm Project. She has appeared as a guest artist with Especially Tap Chicago, the Soul to Sole Festival in Austin, “Everything on Tap” in Dallas, Hoofin Ground Festival in Charlotte, and the Chicago Human Rhythm Project’s Rhythm World Summer Festival.

 

 

She teaches throughout the year as a guest instructor at Tapestry Dance Academy in Austin and was a featured artist for “The Legacy Tap Project”. She has had the privilege to share the stage with Dianne Walker, Sarah Petronio, Acia Gray, Nicholas Young, Nicole Hockenberry, Mark Yonally, Ira Bernstein, Buster Cooper, Jay Fagan, Derick Grant, Lane Alexander, and Legends Fayard Nicholas and Arthur Duncan. Barbara also appeared in “JUBA” Masters of Tap and Percussive Dance with Mr. Alexander at the Chicago Human Rhythm Project. She has staged numerous productions for the San Antonio Symphony's Pops Series including “Big Band” under the baton of the irrepressible Michael Krajewski, and works with numerous youth companies across the U.S.

Barbara is currently artistic director of R.P.M. (Rhythm & Percussion in Motion) Youth Tap Ensemble, Artistic Producing Director of Third Coast Rhythm Project, and serves on the Executive Board of the San Antonio Dance Umbrella.
