San Antonio, TX 11th Annual summer festival
Third Coast Rhythm Project
July 17--20, 2008

Third Coast Rhythm Project is a nationally recognized festival of tap and percussive dance that attracts dancers, teachers, historians, and rhythm explorers to San Antonio to study, share, and celebrate this icon of American Culture. This annual festival event features national and international master teachers and artists in a 4 day educational program of master classes, courses, archive film showings, open jam sessions, and a gala concert performance featuring the distinguished Third Coast Faculty, and the best jazz musicians in the Southwest. Featured Artists for this years roster include, Legend  “Lady Di” Dianne Walker (Broadway’s Black & Blue) Acia Gray (Tapestry Dance Company Artistic Director), Sam Weber (Taps Virtuoso), Lane Alexander (Chicago Human Rhythm Project), Jay Fagan (Las Vegas), Barbara Phillips (Third Coast), Derick Grant (Imagine Tap) Nicholas Young (Steve Tour of Stomp), Nicole Hockenberry (Tap P.A.), and the Mark Rubinstein Jazz Trio.

Third Coast Presents JAZZ ON TAP Saturday July 19, 2008 @ 8:00pm at the historical Charline McCombs Empire Theatre, in Downtown San Antonio on the Riverwalk, 226 N. St. Mary’s. Festival classes and events begin on Thursday July 17 and run through Sunday July 20. Schedule of events, registration and concert tickets available online.

Mission Statement:

Third Coast Rhythm Project is dedicated to the preservation, presentation, education and creation of all aspects of American tap dance and affiliated percussive dance forms. TCRP builds bridges between diverse communities by presenting inclusive, innovative performances, by giving scholarships to deserving San Antonio area youth and by continuing the tradition of cultural innovation through shared experience
